Charity Workshop With Scott Mills in Peterborough Sept 17th

From his base art of American Kenpo, Scott has developed his own passion for Mixed Martial Arts and has trained at the famous Tap Out Centre in Las Vegas, the premier fight training centre in the United States.

He has also trained with Keebo Robinson the Jiu-Jitsu coach for Team Tompkins, and Scott has trained with Master Sken in Muay Thai. Today whilst maintaining his base art of American Kenpo, he continues to cross train, which makes him a phenomenal, all round martial artist.

Charity Cash For Kicks Workshop With Chris Boughey 7th Degree

Paul King of KSOMA – King’s School Of Martial Arts (Peterborough’s Centre For Martial Arts Excellence) has arranged a Charity Cash For Kicks Workshop With Chris Boughey 7th Degree.

Chris is giving his time for this workshop completely free of charge and we are donating every penny raised to Chris’s chosen charity – Genesis which is devoted to the prevention of breast cancer

Chris Boughey is the founder and Chief Instructor of North West Chinese Kickboxing, with over thirty years of training and teaching in the martial arts, Chris holds a 4th Degree Black Sash in Lau Gar Kung Fu and a 6th Degree Black Belt in Kickboxing. http://www.nwckb.co.uk/
Chris is also the current England team coach for the World Kickboxing Association.

Chris began his martial arts career back in 1977 when he trained in Lau Gar Kung Fu with some of Lau’s finest instructors including Clive Parkinson and Humphrey Broomes. He eventually went on to train for many years with Lau’s founder and chief instructor Master Jeremy Yau.

It is with great pride that today I can announce a new OCFM Coach.

Sensei Paul King

Paul is the latest graduate of the Russell Stutely Platinum Training Program.

I have known Paul for about 15 Years now – or so we worked out on Wednesday!

Paul has a long Martial Arts background spanning some 33 years plus. I was proud to be on a grading panel for Paul many years ago… and that was one helluva grading!

Paul has a Full Time Martial Arts Gym in Peterborough, Cambs, UK.

I was there on Wednesday this week and what a fantastic set up Paul has. Two training areas with a ton of space and lots of space for people to sit and watch in comfort.

It is a true family business with Pauls Wife and Daughter also teaching classes there. Everything from Tai Chi for health through to Ju Jitsu for making people VERY unhealthy (should they be on the receiving end).

Paul has worked amazingly hard all the way through the Program and showed the true Martial Arts spirit of a REAL Martial Artist.

I am VERY proud to have Paul in our Group as an OCFM Coach.

If you are near Paul then I highly recommend that you go and train with the guy. You will find a warm welcome from a man of stature who is always willing to help and educate.

So, once again CONGRATULATIONS Paul, you did a great job and welcome aboard as they say!

KSOMA – King’s School of Martial Arts full time martial arts studio

KSOMA – King’s School of Martial Arts has been providing quality martial arts instruction in and around the Peterborough area since the beginning of 2000. With the continued success and growth of its student base KSOMA has now opened a full time martial arts studio in Peterborough. The studio has been designed to supplement the quality of teaching by providing a quality equipped training environment, giving students access to facilities and levels of training not previously possible for us when training in church halls and sports centres.

The new centre located at Unit 4, Mancetter Square, Peterborough PE4 6BX, offers, quality instruction in Jujitsu, Eskrima, Tai Chi and Self Defence.

The studio run by husband and wife team Paul and Lesley King, each with over 30 years experience in martial arts will provide classes both daytime and evenings, giving shift workers, and parents the opportunity to train regularly in arts previously only available during the evenings.

KSOMA has five experienced black belt instructors, both male and female and can provide female only sessions on request.

Classes are available for all age groups from 5yrs old upwards in separate classes for different age groups. Students can study any mixture of the arts offered in separate classes.

As we now have our own premises available we can also offer corporate classes for any of the arts as either ongoing training or short courses tailored to corporate requirements. KSOMA is also working closely with schools in the area to provide extra curricular after school classes, martial arts within PE lessons and themed days.

KSOMA OFFERS FREE MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING

Help with Training – counter the recession and Christmas / New Year

Many of us will overindulge over the coming weeks and will be looking for some way to maintain or improve our fitness. Many of us will also be counting the pennies at one of the most expensive times of year. KSOMA – King’s School of Martial Arts can help.

As a new adult student, you can come along for a free lesson in any of our classes and if you enjoy it then simply pay the appropriate annual membership fee (£15 – £35) depending upon the options you selected, and once this fee is paid in addition the first free lesson, KSOMA will give you completely free and unlimited training in any or all of our timetabled classes at our Peterborough centre, until the end of January 2010. There will be nothing else to pay for training until February.

During your free time, you can train as much or as little as you want subject to class spaces, in Kempo Jujitsu, Eskrima (Filipino Stick Fighting) or Tai Chi or even Martial Mayhem our popular circuit class. Remember you can train in any mixture of these classes and there are classes daytime, evenings and weekends.
