Karate student vs Kung Fu student

Students of Kyokushinkai karate and drunken kung fu go at it. Please keep your comments respectful, and avoid hollow “x style is better than y style” comments, anyone with a clue knows it comes down to the individual, not the style. If anybody could identify the fighters or where the video is from, I’d appreciate it. Trophy92 sent me a PM saying the first match is karate vs drunken kung fu, and the second is karate vs snake kung fu, if anyone’s interested in what kung fu is getting thrashed :p Still open to pms identifying the fighters (someone did in a comment which I’ve now forgotten.)

I do judo and crav maga and wu shi this all started in Okinawa they are all abet pressure points and how to kill as because in war u wudnt wona tickle sum1 at close quarters if u dint hav a gun . Now wer peepl go ring is they thing all martial art is different well mayb sum dnt cum from Okinawa like crav maga but mor or les come from the same region and a will kik der asses lol am 13 and dad teaches judo jujitsu and ikedo!

I have nothing againts kung fu but… I’m yet to see someone use actual kung fu moves and win in a fight… Kung fu gets no respect ’cause of its lack of “proven” techniques in fights like this.
@djsmurfie Well all of this martial arts shit looks pretty stupid when its raw unedited footage like this. I doubt this stuff is effective in real life situations.
honestly i think the drunken fist guys couldve beat the karate guys if they werent trying to show off there style and be flash, the drunken fist is effective if used right. Karate’s hard straight line punches and kicks were to much for those guys. The drunken fist guys should have pressed the attack more. Stupid chinese guys.

@prettyboy0909 Nobody really knows to be honest: you’re not going to get a Shaolin monk fighting in something like UFC (because of their religion) these guys can supposedly kill with just their fingers. They’re impressive in shows (like balancing on iron spikes on their stomachs: called ‘iron shirt’) but they’ll never prize fight…..so who knows!

Actually we do know because peole who practiced kung fu for years competed in the first UFCs before MMA started to evolve. They generally looked about as bad as this vid. Many kung fu guys fought in various MMA orgs and they all looked very sloppy and unorganized. Really crappy striking and nothing else.
I think the kung fu guys forms are made for showbusiness. He was attempting the drunken fist, but kung fu guys are eating fist and feet instead. This form of kung fu is a disgrace to real combat sports.
Yeah the last guy stood a chance but they stopped it early. I feel like it was scripted too. Any style can be more or less effective depending on the practitioner. These guys need more power in their movement. Each move should be a hard strike/block but that wasn’t demonstated at all but the kung fu guys
